Local Employees Support Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County
F.N.B. Wealth Management Employees Raise Two Year Total of $68,500

Hermitage, PA – November 22, 2011 – Many companies raise funds to benefit local charities, and First National Bank of Pennsylvania and its subsidiary, F.N.B. Wealth Management consistently do so as part of their commitment to strengthen the local communities they serve. Beyond corporate efforts, however, a small but dedicated team of F.N.B. Wealth Management employees have for more than two years continued to support local residents by contributing to the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County.

In the past two years, a handful of employees have spearheaded efforts that have put $68,500 into the hands of the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County (CFWMC). According to CFWMC estimates, CFWMC can supply 7 meals for each dollar donated, meaning the team’s efforts represent 470,000 meals for those in need.

So how have these F.N.B. Wealth Management employees been so effective in raising funds? The efforts began in 2010 when Joe Mielecki, Vice President and Relationship Manager for F.N.B. Wealth Management, approached the Community Food Warehouse with the idea of holding a Race to End Hunger. Since the race’s inception, Mielecki has served as Race Director, and his team members at F.N.B. Wealth Management have been passionate about their responsibility to support their local community.

Lori Weston, Executive Director of Community Food Warehouse, praises the efforts of the dedicated F.N.B. Wealth Management team. “Each team member has provided so much time and energy to make our Race to End Hunger a monumental success. They came as volunteers, but they have become our friends. We are so thankful for their dedication to help end hunger in Mercer County.”

Mielecki agrees, “These individuals have hearts that drive them to give up many evenings to plan the race and to show up at 7:00 AM on a Sunday morning. They are great representatives of F.N.B. in the community, and they fulfill their role without expecting any fanfare.”

In 2011, F.N.B. sported a team of 105 race participants, earning the Myron Award for the company with greatest participation. Weston compliments the company’s efforts, “We want to thank F.N.B. and the many employees who either gave monetarily or physically participated in this year’s walk/run. They are all part of the winning F.N.B. team.”

F.N.B. Wealth Management team members don’t have any plans to lay aside their commitment. In fact, they will meet later this month to begin planning the 2012 Race to End Hunger.

The mission of the Community Food Warehouse is to provide low cost and nutritional food products on a continued basis to member agencies. These agencies in turn meet the needs of residents throughout Mercer County who might benefit from food assistance. Each year, the Community Food Warehouse meets the needs of more than 4,300 families within Mercer County.
